Responsibilities
- Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of elevators & escalators, including checking for wear and tear, lubricating moving parts, and replacing faulty parts.
- Repairs: Troubleshooting and repairing elevator malfunctions, such as electrical issues, mechanical failures, and sensor problems.
- Testing: Conducting tests on elevator systems to ensure they meet safety and performance standards, and adjusting components as necessary.
- Compliance: Ensuring that elevators comply with relevant safety codes and regulations, and maintaining accurate records of inspections and repairs.
- Customer Service: Interacting with clients to understand their elevator needs, providing cost estimates for installations and repairs, and explaining maintenance schedules.
- Emergency Response: Responding to emergency calls to repair elevators that are stuck or malfunctioning, often requiring work outside of regular business hours.
Must Have
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Preferably with postsecondary education in electrical or mechanical engineering, elevator installation, or a related field.
- Training: The candidate must have received on-the-job training, often through apprenticeship programs, classroom instruction with hands-on training under the supervision of experienced engineers. Training Certificates are mandatory to be submitted
- Licensing/Certification: The candidate is required to be licensed or certified, depending on the jurisdiction. Certification to be provided by relevant organizations.
- Skills: The Candidate should have strong mechanical and electrical skills, as well as the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. They should also have good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Safety Training: Since working on elevators and escalators can be hazardous, candidates must submit safety trainings and be aware of safety regulations and protocols.
- Experience: Proven previous experience in vertical transportation industry is a must.
